Discover La Petite Faim

If you're in the mood for a cozy, charming dining experience in Wissant, La Petite Faim is the place to be. Nestled on 3 Rue du Comté de Lambert, this quaint restaurant offers a wonderful blend of traditional French cuisine with a modern twist. Whether you’re popping in for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner, this gem is sure to leave you satisfied.

The moment you step inside, La Petite Faim welcomes you with its warm, inviting ambiance. The space is small but beautifully decorated, making it the perfect spot for both intimate meals and gatherings with friends. The cozy atmosphere gives it a homey feel, so you instantly feel at ease, as if you’ve been a regular for years.

What sets La Petite Faim apart is the care and thoughtfulness that goes into its menu. Every dish is carefully crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients sourced locally when possible. For instance, one standout on the menu is their seafood platter. Fresh from the nearby coast, the oysters and shrimp are served chilled, accompanied by just the right touch of seasoning to let the natural flavors shine. It's a perfect example of how this restaurant marries simplicity with gourmet touches.

Not only is the food delightful, but the service at La Petite Faim truly makes the experience special. The staff is incredibly attentive, always happy to offer suggestions based on your preferences. On one visit, I had the pleasure of trying their duck confit, a dish I’ve had at many French restaurants, but never quite like this. The crispy skin was perfectly balanced with the tenderness of the meat, creating a melt-in-your-mouth experience that’s hard to forget. Paired with a glass of wine from their carefully curated list, it felt like the ultimate French indulgence.

What’s also impressive about La Petite Faim is their ability to stay true to traditional French cooking while incorporating modern elements. The chef blends regional recipes with contemporary techniques, ensuring that each dish feels fresh and exciting. It’s not just the flavor combinations that stand out, but also the presentation. Each plate looks like a work of art, designed to excite the senses before the first bite.

Of course, no French dining experience is complete without dessert, and La Petite Faim doesn't disappoint. The homemade crème brûlée is an absolute must-try. The golden, caramelized top cracks open to reveal a smooth, velvety custard underneath that is simply divine. Paired with a cup of freshly brewed coffee, it's the perfect way to end a meal.

Another highlight is the location itself. Situated in the charming town of Wissant, La Petite Faim offers a beautiful view of the surrounding scenery. After enjoying a delightful meal, you can take a leisurely stroll along the coastline, making it an even more memorable experience. Whether you’re visiting for a special occasion or simply want to treat yourself, La Petite Faim’s combination of exceptional food, friendly service, and picturesque setting makes it a top choice in the area.

The menu at La Petite Faim changes with the seasons, ensuring that you’ll always find something new and exciting to try. From rich, hearty stews in the colder months to lighter, more refreshing dishes in the summer, there’s something for every palate. The restaurant also offers daily specials, so you can try something unique depending on what’s in season.

I’ve personally been back to La Petite Faim multiple times, and each visit has been just as enjoyable as the last. The consistency of the quality of both the food and the service keeps me coming back for more. Whether you’re a local or just visiting the area, this is a place you won’t want to miss. • Ate here tonight. Very hungry after walking from Calais. Got turned away by the very rude owner of another establishment nearby for not booking in advance. Fair enough if they were full but didnt need the long lecture recieved after paying 18euro for 2 small beers there. Cheese burger and fries were delicious and not a bit greasy. Very good value with large portions . Would definitely eat here again.

  • Great friendly service with large portions. Just what is needed after a day on the sand. Could do with taking card payments though.
